Beauty and the Bump

No matter how pregnant women claim to look/feel awful while they are expecting, I personally think there is nothing as beautiful as pregnancy curves.

And this lovely lady is no exception to it. With less than three more weeks to go for Baby Number 3 to arrive, Lucy made it look so breezy.

{Lucy–I had such a fun afternoon with you this week! I hope you are well and that you like this little sneak peek that I put together for you. All the best and I look forward to meeting your newborn when he comes!}

Fun All Around

This session was a loads of fun because:

a) The weather was just perfect–not a cloud in the sky. When you live in England, this is a big deal!

b) The location, Castle Ashby Gardens in Northampton, was a photographer’s dream come true.

and

c) The family I photographed are very good friends of ours and it was more of a day out together than a portrait session!

My husband and I met Neil and Barbara in our former church in Tokyo, Japan before either couple was even married (or engaged!). Since then, we’ve seen each other get married, move to England and have children. And if we have our own way, we’ll probably marry off our firstborns in 20-something years’ time! (Gavin and Aeyen will probably hate us for all this craziness though!)

And just for fun, here are a few funny outtakes that I just love!

Gavin and Aeyen, herding (ie torturing) the ducks!

{Neil and Barbara–I am so glad I finally got to photograph you and the kids! You all looked gorgeous and we really enjoyed spending the day with you. I hope you like these as much as I do. Speak to you soon!}

I had a great time photographing this family last week! I first met Claire at a mum’s exercise class one year ago and I remember photographing her with her daughter, Sara, amongst the lovely bluebells in the spring. Later that year, in the summer, I photographed her again with her newborn son, Kaleb. And now, a year later, I finally get the big picture and photographed the whole family!

{Claire and Yan–I hope you like this sneak peek of your session! Your family was such a joy to photograph….. Speak to you soon!}

It’s Raining Babies…

Hello, hello! I am back from a very long break from blogging! I have a few photos from sessions in the past few weeks that I just haven’t posted over the summer holiday. I promise to back-track and post them in the next days to come.

It’s definitely raining babies! Since the start of August, I have had NINE friends who have given birth! Some of them are friends here where I live and the others are scattered all over the world. I am so excited for all these women! I wish I had my own personal jet so I can just go and photograph these new babes!

One baby who didn’t require me to fly is Baby Henry. He is the beautiful little boy of my friend, Amy, who lives just down the street from me. It was such a pleasure to photograph both of them during Henry’s first week. I am hoping to take more photos in the next few days of this little man with his two older brothers.

{Amy–Thank you so much for asking me to photograph the latest addition to your beautiful family! I hope you enjoy these and I will definitely be coming back to take more photos of the three boys all together…. See you soon!}

Smitten

Meet Felix. He is only three months old but he’s already got his mum and dad wrapped around his wee little finger. Very lucky boy! One of the things I love about what I do is meeting new families and seeing grown-ups completely head over heels in love with their little ones. :-)

{Sam and Danielle, thank you for welcoming me into your lovely home this week-end! It was a fun morning photographing you all. I hope you enjoy this sneak peek and will be in touch when the rest of your set is ready!}

Birthday Boy

I photographed this family on a very special day–it was the hottest day of the year in England (apparently) and it was also the little boy’s first birthday! Lemy was such a handsome little fella and it’s no surprise really–with parents looking like this!

{Mark and Veronica–thanks for letting me record your guapito’s special day! It was such a fun session and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos. I hope Lemy enjoys his party this week-end!}

Angel Aliyah

Meet Baby Aliyah, barely one week old when these photos were taken. Isn’t she just lovely? I am sure you would remember her mum’s maternity session a few posts back.

I have to admit that the few hours before I photographed Aliyah, I was in a slightly upsetting situation. You know, the type of situation where you either want to lock yourself in your closet and bawl or distract yourself with some serious retail therapy. Both of which, I just could not do because a) I do not have a closet with enough space to fit myself in, and b) I have simply forgotten how to shop! Anyway, I digress. Bottomline is, I was not in the best of moods to take photographs.

However, I persevered and made my way to meet this family. And boy, I am so glad I did! I realise I just found a new way of coping with doldrums–newborn therapy! In the two hours that I spent photographing Aliyah and her family, I quickly forgot about how tough my morning was and I felt a whole lot better. I have this little angel to thank for….

{Ulani and David–you must be very proud of your little kiddies! Thank you for the great afternoon!}

Summer is Here!

We’ve been having some uncharacteristically beautiful weather here in England lately. Sunny, warm and most definitely summer-y!

This family was very fortunate to have picked such a fantastic day to have their photos taken. I am a bit late in showing the sneak peek, but I hope the photographs will make up for it!

This little girl’s energy was impressive! She had me chasing her all over the park and gave me a sneak peek at what is yet to come when Aeyen gets to her age in a few months’ time… :)

{Adam and Fiona–Sorry this post is delayed! I hope you enjoy the photos and I am looking forward to contacting you again soon to show you the rest.}

Beautiful Mama, Beautiful Bump

There must be something in the water around here that makes pregnant women look fabulous! I had another yummy mummy session earlier this week, this time, with Heidi and her family, Justin and Madi–who would rather jump off the window ledge whilst singing “Zoom, zoom, we’re going to the moon!” than be photographed with her parents!

I first met this lovely family last summer when Madi was less than a year old and we had a photo session at the woods. Some of my all-time favourite photos are from their session then and you can see them on my main website. We became friends since, with Heidi and I seeing each other sometimes at a local playgroup. Justin and Heidi also manage the fantastic Oval Cafe, which I am a huge fan of! It’s got great coffee, great cakes and a designated play area for tots, too.

I was only too happy to do Heidi’s maternity photos–just two weeks before her due date! Here are some of my favourites–

Growing, Glowing, Gorgeous

This has got to be one of my favourite maternity sessions. With a yummy mummy like this, you can’t really go wrong!

Ulani and her husband, David, are missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM),  a fantastic Christian organisation which I was also involved in when I was younger. I met Ulani at a mums exercise class last year and I really wanted to do her maternity photos. This pregnancy is her third and just looking at her daughter and son (who was asleep during the whole time!), I know this baby will also be gorgeous!
